the planning continues

it never stops. Our date is set for September 10th, 2011. Get it, 9/10/11, how awesome is that? We looked at two venues last weekend with my parents, the Hilton Garden Inn and the Heatherwoode Golf Club.

The Hilton was awesome, not too expensive and it included almost everything except for photography, cake and dj. The only con was that we would have to take pictures somewhere else, they don’t have many photogenic locations inside, and it would be a big pain in the butt hauling everyone to some park and then bringing them all back. The Hilton did offer to shuttle them for free though, which is a plus. Another plus was that our out-of-town guests would be able to stay there and how convenient is that?

The Heatherwoode was beautiful but the room I wanted wouldn’t be big enough for all of my guests :( It had so many amazing places to take pictures too. I think after going here I’m leaning towards having my wedding at a country club.

We are going to check out another country club this weekend and the Savannah Center in West Chester, where my fiance is from.

We have to find something fast because my date is really popular, even though we are about a year and 8 months away a couple of the places I wanted to look at was already booked for that day.

Perfume

I just read a great article that described how a girl bought a certain brand of perfume just for her wedding day so when her husband smelled it he would be reminded of that day. Great idea…I have to remember to do that.

I think I narrowed down the colors too. Purple, orange, pink and black…all colors of the sunset but not to out of hand.

Wedding planning

This is probably the most difficult, but most fun thing I have ever done. Wedding planning is soo hard, I have no idea what I want to do, I have so many different idea and I want to do everything but it’s impossible. The wedding isn’t until September of 2011 so I have plenty of time. Still, I change my mind every day about the colors I want, the dress I want, venues, city, etc.

I’ve already made some appointments to see some venues; a couple of country clubs and a hotel. I also went to a bridal show last weekend, and left with about 20lbs of brochures and catalogs for different vendors. It’s really exciting, I actually like this whole wedding planning thing, even though it’s a little overwhelming.

In other news, a few days ago I went with my friend Brandi to look for a dress for her wedding and she asked me to be a bridesmaid! I’m so excited!!

I’m Engaged!

Chris popped the question last night. I got home from work and he was at my house with a fire blazing, he bought me roses, made chocolate covered strawberries, and bought some champagne. I had an idea of what was going on, since he doesn’t normally do stuff like this. He was a little nervous, he kept going on about how much he loved me and then would change the subject. I kept thinking…is he going to do it yet?

But he finally popped the question, we were both laying on the floor by the fire and he turned to me and asked me if I was patient enough to deal with him for the rest of my life and if I wanted to be the mother of his childred. I said yes and then he asked me if I would marry him, and I said yes again, of course!!

I’m so excited, I can’t wait to plan this. I’ve already set the date for September 17, 2011. It’s a couple of years away but I want a long time to plan it. I’m going to start a separate wedding blog/website as soon as I find one I like.

Busy weekend

I have another busy weekend ahead of me as usual. Tomorrow (Saturday) I have to go to a Catholic wedding, for my boyfriends best friends little brother… Not only do I have to sit through a long, boring ceremony; but I’m going to miss the Ohio State-Michigan game. ugh, this sucks. At least I get to wear my new dress. If we get out of there early enough I hope to stop by my parents house, I have family coming in from out of town and my mother is having dinner for them.

Sunday I am going to see New Moon with my sisters (soo excited) and then after that I’m going ring shopping with Chris (even more excited!!). After that I’m celebrating with my friend Brandi, she just got a new job. Also I just recently got promoted at my job, so I want to celebrate that too. So another weekend with no time to relax.

Unfortunately I had to work late last night (Friday night), so I didn’t get to enjoy all the costume parties. I did meet up with Chris when I got off and he was dressed as a girl. It was hilarious. He bought a blond with that had a tiara attached and went to Goodwill and bought this ugly skirt…and borrowed a pink shirt from me. So I called him Christina for the rest of the night. One thing I love about him…he’s not afraid to embarrass himself.

Tonight we are going to my parents house and taking my nephews trick or treating and then we are going to our friend Brandi and Josh’s and figuring out what to do from there. I’ll finally get to wear my costume tonight.

Chris’ Birthday

Poor Chris, he got the flu the day before his birthday party. He started getting sick Thursday night and has been bedridden for the past few days. There were actually quite a few people that were going to show up, including his parents, and my aunt and uncle that rarely come out. He was really dissapointed though, and I felt bad for him. He was looking forward to partying. We were going to have a cornhole and poker tournament. Oh well, at least I have enough hamburgers and hot dogs to last me a month.

What did I do that night? Well I went to the mini-party without him. My aunt and uncle still came over, and my brother and his girlfriend, so we had dinner with my parents. Chris had to stay at home and be sad.

October!!

I haven’t written anything in awhile because nothing new has really happened. It is October though and that’s my favorite month. But this October has been colder than normal. I just hope it’s not really cold on Halloween. It’s no secret that Halloween is my favorite holiday, I LOVE dressing up. My boyfriend is going as a 1920′s gangster and I’m going to be a flapper. I still don’t really know what we are going to be doing. Probably just going to Tutys’ again, I don’t think anyone I know is having a party.

Other than that I really can not think of one damn thing that is new in my life right now. It’s pretty boring, and honestly I like it that way.

Old people

Why do the elderly think that it’s ok to cut in front of you in line and then take their damn, slow time? Today I was at Meijers waiting in front of the deli to get some lunch meat. I had already been waiting a few minutes because the old lady that was there before me decided she wanted a 1/4 pound of every meat imaginable. So she’s finally done and I’m about to speak up and tell the deli worker what I want when some 60 something year old overweight man wearing suspenders that looked like measuring tape just walked up and yelled “I need salami”. I was like, whatever, he’ll get his salami and be on his way. But no, he decided that the salami already pre-cut wasn’t thick enough, so he had the deli worker guy cut him more, which took forever. All the while looking at me with this little grin on his face like he knew he was pissing me off and he was happy about it.

I know this isn’t the first time I have been in a situation like this. I know I’ve been really annoyed by old people on several different occasions. What gives them the right to think they can cut in line or demand special treatment?  I understand that you are older, have been on this earth longer, blah blah. But I don’t know you.  Stalin was an old guy but he obviously didn’t deserve special treatment. And damnit I was in a hurry. There is a reason there is a line.

I feel like this blog is going to turn into a rant blog about shit that generally displeases me or for me to go on about a shitty day. I’m ok with that.

When I thought it couldn’t get worse

After locking my keys in my car and having to leave it at work overnight I talked to AAA and they told me they would meet me up there to do a lockout service. My sister said she would take me up there to meet her, very gracious of her since she was sick and her youngest son was sick too with sinus infection. On our way up there, just a few minutes away from my work, her tire blows out. So there we are sitting on the side of the highway and now we have to wait for her in-laws to come pick us up! I actually made it to work on time with 5 minutes to spare, but I had to cancel AAA meeting me and they were already on their way.

When I got to work I called AAA again and they were actually there within 15 minutes, I was surprised at how fast and efficient they are. So I got my keys out of my car, which was a relief. And then my contact scratches my eye…so I had to go through the rest of the day with a burning, red and watery eye. RIDICULOUS

I feel like I have to do some really great deed now just to get my karma points up.
