Republicans are sore losers.

This rant stems from the many negative status updates I see posted by my Republican friends on facebook nearly everyday. Now politics are not something that I get into or talk about a lot, because I don’t really follow it. I know what is going on in the world and I read the news everyday but I don’t like to get into the political side of things, mostly because it gives me a headache and I feel that it’s pointless to argue with anyone; you’re not going to change their mind and/or views.

I can’t stand close-minded people, and I especially can’t stand the ones who feel the need to broadcast their opinions all over the interwebs.  I am a veteran to this whole facebook/myspace/twitter status updated phenom, I’ve been there since the beginning. The majority of my friends are Democrat, because I myself am also a Democrat. But, the ratio of my Democrat friends updating us with smack talk of Bush compared to the ratio of my Republican friends talking negatively about Obama is exponentially lower.

President Obama has understandably had a rough first 100 days of his term. He has to clean up after George Bush, it’s not easy cleaning up something that has completely gone to shit. I know, I’ve cleaned my boyfriends bedroom before,  it’s basically the same concept. I happen to think that Obama is doing a great job with what he has to work with. I also think that he genuinely cares about this country and ways to improve life not only for the rich but also for the poor.

I’m tired and I need coffee, I don’t know or care if anything I said made any sense. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, and I’m entitled to be annoyed by said opinions.

April Fools

No one did anything truly spectacular this year, then again no one I know does anything spectacular any year for April Fools. Chris and I changed our facebook status to engaged and I put my status message as “OMG I’M GETTING MARRIED”. Out of the twenty or so people who commented only one person thought it might be an April Fools joke. I even got text messages congratulating me, I kind of felt bad after awhile, like I was perpetrating a fraud agains the public. It was humorous though when people were writing and telling me that it was about time and that they saw it coming.

checked Twitter out

It’s a neat little site, basically for just updating people on what you are doing. Think a website of just facebook status updates. You can follow people, celebrities for example. I’m only following one person, the great George R.R. Martin  (author and screenwriter). I think he just signed up for the site and doesn’t really use it though because he doesn’t update his status.

A bad thing I noticed was that the site does get overloaded sometimes and times out.

I did find a good use for it though, wordpress has a widget for Twitter which updates my status on my blog, which I cleverly titled on the sidebar as “what i’m doing now”. I’m pretty sure I can do it through my cell phone too, I don’t know yet because I haven’t set it up for mobile device…planning on doing that sometime in the near future.

Twitter

What exactly is Twitter? I keep hearing about it the last couple of weeks. Just in the past few days I have learned that Twitter is the #3 ranked social networking site behind Facebook and Myspace. I guess Jennifer Aniston broke up with John Mayer because he spent 30 hours on Twitter when he told her he was too busy to talk. Again I ask, what the  hell is Twitter and why should I care?

If it’s more important that Jennifer Aniston I really get the feeling that’s it’s something I should look into, even if just for a minute. But I already have a Myspace (which I only really use now for the application games) and facebook (which I use quite often to see what all my friends are up too), do I really have the time and energy for another social application?
